Get a Parent with Good Credit to Co-Sign
If you have a parent who has good credit and is willing to co-sign for a loan for you, this can be an excellent way to build a credit history. Loan companies will base their approval decision on your co-signer’s credit rather than yours, so you’ll likely receive better interest rates.
Secured Credit Cards
Secured credit cards require you to deposit money into a savings account to be used as collateral. For example, if you deposit $500 into a savings account, then your credit limit on your secured card would be $500. You then use the card just as you would any other credit card, the difference being that if you cannot repay the borrowed money, it is simply deducted from the balance of the savings account that you would receive upon closing the account.
